San Bernardino Mountains Land Trust and the Friends of Big Bear Valley have teamed up to stop a luxury housing development threatening the pristine area known as Moon Camp, where bald eagles perch and forage.
After more than two decades of public opposition, the developer has agreed to allow SBMLT to purchase and preserve the land permanently—but only if we raise the $10 million needed by July 31, 2026. The clock is ticking!

Restoration
Restoring 120 acres of critical wildlife habitat after wildfire damage. This project includes erosion control, native plant restoration, and trail rehabilitation.
Acquisition
Acquiring and protecting 40 acres containing critical bat roosting habitat. Home to three rare bat species including the Townsend's big-eared bat.
Stewardship
Maintaining 25 miles of public trails through regular volunteer workdays. Join us every second Saturday for trail maintenance activities.
A ceremony will be held at the new Veteran's Monument at Arrowhead Ridge to honor all those who have served in the military, coordinated by VFW Post 9624 and American Legion Post 360.
