The Alpine Mountaineer’s popular hiking column spotlighted Arrowhead Ridge, SBMLT’s wildland nature preserve in Lake Arrowhead. The feature highlights the scenic nature trails winding through 80 acres of forest that were once slated for a major residential development.
Since SBMLT rescued the property in 2011, the land has been transformed from a construction site scarred by earth-moving equipment into a network of peaceful walking trails through healthy forest. The preserve is located at 352 Grass Valley Road and is open to the public for hiking and nature enjoyment.
